In the early years of the Ufa branch of the Moscow Institute of Technology at the Department of Economics and Organization of Consumer Services, a section "Computer Technology and automated Control systems" (VT and ACS) was created, headed by senior lecturer A.D.Zholobov. In 1983, the section was transformed into an independent department of "VT and ACS". The first head was associate professor, Ph.D. Khasanov V.Kh. From 1989 to 1995, the head of the department was associate professor, Ph.D. A.K.Emaletdinov. Since 1995, the Department of "VT and ACS" has been headed by a professor, Doctor of Ph.D. V.N.Starikov, full member of the New York Academy. In November 1995, the Department of "VT and ACS" was renamed the Department of "Informatics". From 2003 to 2007, he headed the department of Candidate of Technical Sciences V. N. Kruzhkov — Director of Bashtekhinform. In November 2007, the department was renamed the Department of Computer Science and Information and Communication Technologies. From 2007 to 2013, the head was associate professor, Ph.D., Ph.D. Bikmukhametov I.Kh., from 2013 to 2015 - Ph.D. Koledina K.F., from 2015 to 2017 - Ph.D. Akhmetov I.V.

The Department of Higher Mathematics was established in 1975. The first head of the department was associate professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kudryavtseva I.V., then from 1983 associate professor, Candidate of physical and Mathematical Sciences Ablyalimov S.B. From 1995 to 2017, the head of the department was associate professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (defense in 1984), Doctor of Technical Sciences (defense in 2010) Safin R.R., a graduate of Bashgosuniversitet. In 2012, the name of the department changed and became the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling. The staff of the department has been constantly replenished and is still being replenished mainly by graduates of the Mathematics Faculty of the Bashgosuniversitet.

In September 2017, the departments of "Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling" and "Computer Science and Information and Communication Technologies" merged and became the Department of "Digital Technologies and Modeling". From 2017 to January 2021, the department was headed by Dr. Safin Rashit Rafailovich.Currently, the acting head of the department is Denis Popov.
